What I Meant To Say

The Good Shepherd

I learned a lot of things as I walked through Ezekiel 34 this past week. I learned once again how cool the Bible is. I learned that the shepherd theme runs from the beginning to the end. I also learned I have no idea how to spell shepherd – even though I typed it a million times.

Anyway…I know this season is not easy all the time. I keep seeing this Crate and Barrel commercial where Reese Witherspoon has these incredible parties but it’s because she has spent hours upon hours prepping I (I’ll include a link so you can be crazy with me). It keeps making me crazy because it is what is wrong with this season. There is this feeling that we have to be perfect and everything has to be right. It’s just not true.

Jesus stepped into real life. He didn’t step into some microcosm where everything is perfect and polished. Jesus our good shepherd came and lived real life so that we might have life. This season let’s be less concerned with looking perfect and more concerned with what Jesus wants to do in us and our community.
